France – Addressing the Challenge of Climate Change

The British government has launched a map illustrating the global consequences of failing to keep climate change to less than 2 degrees. The document shows some of the potential consequences on human activity. It emphasizes the severe effects on water availability, agricultural productivity, extreme temperatures, drought, the risk of forest fires and the sea level rise.

% of global CO2 emissions are due to deforestation. Deforestation, with or without a change in land use, is the second leading cause of global CO2 emissions: 13 million hectares of forest disappear every year.
